Mask mandate for planes and airports dropped... the horror!

While MSM pumps up the fear, a reminder about medical freedom working both ways

Already, the main stream media is full of articles showing the fear of every day citizens over the mask mandates being dropped from airlines and airports. Curious why they aren’t covering stories of people who are finally willing to fly again after not being willing to fly for the past 2 years because they refused to wear a mask (like me!)

If you feel safer wearing a mask on a plane, keep wearing one. No one is making you stop. That my friends is how medical freedom works - you don’t tell me how to treat myself medically, and I won’t tell you what to do, and that includes wearing a medical device.

I have yet to see a scientific study showing that masks prevent transmission from asymptomatic (healthy) people. I have put that challenge out there multiple times and have yet to get a study on this. We are talking about healthy people that test positive - sick people shouldn’t be out and about anyway, regardless of whether it is COVID, flu, or any other infectious disease. The evidence of transmission from asymptomatic people is weak. And we are talking about masks from the index case, not the contacts who do or do not wear masks. Some studies have shown that contacts that wear masks might be at reduced risk of acquiring COVID infection - some studies also show no difference, including some by the CDC - a nice summary of that literature here. So the simple conclusions of this are:

• If you are sick, don’t fly

• If you are afraid getting COVID, wear a mask, get your vaccine, don’t fly, whatever

Let’s think about this for a minute… how many times pre-COVID have you taken a flight, got home, and were sick? Maybe with a cold or flu? It happens. But chances are, I bet you knew of someone on that plane with the sniffles or coughing.

People who are strongly opposed to wearing masks haven’t flown for 2 years. Their lives went on. They drove places, or perhaps reworked their lives.

Lastly, let’s talk about what medical freedom means. True medical freedom means fighting for every individual to have the right to have medical autonomy, the right to make the best decisions for themselves. If that means you want to be able to wear a mask in public, that should be your right. If that means you don’t want to be forced to wear a mask in public, again, your right. Both sides will try to convince you… but I’m guessing you’ll only see one side promoted in the main stream media…
